We believe northern gardens need seeds—and strategies—built for northern life.
There’s great gardening wisdom out there—and then there’s what works here. That’s where Taiga comes in.
We’re here for the new gardeners, the seasoned growers, and everyone in between who knows that in the North, every season is a lesson—and every seed is a start.
Here, success isn’t about a perfect plan.
It’s about being in your garden—with a little grit and heart—and growing stronger with each harvest.

Our Mission
To inspire and empower you to grow your own food in northern gardens.
Through curated seeds, practical resources, and grounded encouragement, we're here to support your journey, encourage your learning, and grow your resilience.
Our Story
Like many growers, our journey started small: a few containers on a patio, a stubborn backyard patch in the city, fruit trees and berry bushes planted wherever they’d fit.
Over time—and with plenty of weathered seasons—that patchwork grew into a full farm: 25 acres rooted in resilience, care, and the spirit of the North.
We carry forward the spirit of those who came north envisioning a better life—growing what they could in short summers to sustain themselves through long winters.
In those early gardens, the bounty wasn’t just kept—it was shared: seeds, starts, harvests—passed hand to hand, neighbor to neighbor.
That same strength lives on today, in every northern gardener who plants a seed and nurtures hope into harvest.
After years of navigating unpredictable springs, short summers, and early frosts, we knew the standard advice wasn’t cutting it.
So we built something better—something rooted in real experience, northern grit, and a deep respect for what it truly takes to grow here.
Taiga isn’t just a company.
It’s a movement to reclaim confidence and rebuild lost knowledge in northern food growing—seed by seed, harvest by harvest.

Grow With us
Whether you're planting your first seeds or starting your fiftieth season, Taiga is here to meet you where you are—and grow alongside you.
Plant a seed. Learn a lot. Harvest your own food.
As your garden grows, you’ll find pride in a meal made with food you grew yourself—and joy in sharing: a handful of seeds, a few spare seedlings, a basket handed over a backyard fence.
Gardening isn’t just about what you harvest.
It’s about what you pass along.
Let’s CULTIVATE THE NORTH. Together.

From the Founder
Taiga Farm & Seed grew from a deep love of growing food in northern places—where every season teaches something new, and every seed holds potential.
I started with a few containers on a patio, then a backyard garden tucked into an urban lot. Over time, those early experiments turned into a working farm—and now, a seed company rooted in cold-climate knowledge and care.
This work is about more than seeds. It’s about building skills, reclaiming confidence, and finding joy in what you grow—no matter the size of your garden or the shape of your season.
Taiga exists to support that journey—one seed, one season, one act of growing at a time.
— Caroline, Founder of Taiga Farm & Seed
Grow Your Own Table
Our vision takes inspiration from the spirit of the Victory Garden—when growing food was an everyday act of care and self-reliance. At Taiga, we call this the Modern Victory Garden: reclaiming the knowledge and confidence to grow your own food, wherever you are.
It’s not about doing it all. It’s about doing what you can—planting something, feeding yourself well, and finding pride in the process. Whether it's a raised bed, a windowsill herb pot, or your first backyard plot, it all counts.
You don’t need permission. Just seeds, soil, and a little courage.
Let’s Cultivate the North together.
