  • 4 people with a moderate vegetable diet and produce to put up for the winter
  • Average gardening/week: 4-6 hours for neat and tidy space. (e.g. 40' L x 20' W)

Experienced

  • 1,500 - 2,000 square foot garden
  • 4 people who have a high vegetable diet 
  • 6 people with a moderate vegetable diet and produce to put up for the winter
  • Average gardening/week:6-8 hours for neat and tidy space. (e.g. 60' L x 25' W)

Ways things may be New:

  • Upsizing this year and getting used to a larger garden
  • Relocated and this garden is in a different zone
  • New home with different soils
  • Trying new seed varieties
  • Haven't planted a seed or a plant outside

New often means higher plant mortality; a smaller space is an opportunity to acclimate.
