1. INTRODUCTION
This Privacy Policy explains how Taiga Farm & Seed LLC ("Taiga," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information from Beta Users of the Taiga HEAT Compass™ beta program ("Beta Program"). Taiga HEAT Compass™ is a food growing intelligence platform designed first for Northern gardeners. By participating in the Beta Program, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect the following categories of information:
(a) Account and Contact Information: When you sign up for the Beta Program, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), city, state, and ZIP code.
(b) Gardening Profile Information: We collect information about your gardening context, including years of experience, garden size, current crops, gardening challenges, gardening confidence, and how you heard about the beta.
(c) Beta Usage Data: When you use the Beta Software, we collect information about how you interact with it, including login times, features used, session duration, and technical information such as browser type, device information, and IP address.
(d) Gardening Data You Input: Information you provide to the Beta Software about your garden, including seed varieties, planting dates, growing conditions, and outcomes.
(e) Feedback and Communications: Information you share through beta feedback surveys, interviews, emails, or other communications with Taiga.
3. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use the information we collect to:
(a) Provide, operate, and improve the Beta Software;
(b) Communicate with you about the Beta Program, including updates, feedback requests, and support;
(c) Personalize the Beta Software experience based on your location and gardening profile;
(d) Analyze how the Beta Software is used to identify improvements and new features;
(e) Aggregate and de-identify data to develop Taiga's products, services, and research;
(f) Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, property, and safety of Taiga and its users.
4. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
(a) Service Providers: We may share information with third-party service providers who help us operate the Beta Software and Beta Program (for example, hosting providers, analytics services, or email service providers), subject to appropriate confidentiality obligations.
(b) Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect our legal rights and interests.
(c) Business Transfers: If Taiga is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
(d) With Your Consent: We may share information with your explicit consent for specific purposes.
5. DATA RETENTION
We retain your information for as long as you participate in the Beta Program and for a reasonable period thereafter to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Aggregated, de-identified data may be retained indefinitely for research and product improvement purposes.
6. DATA SECURITY
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The Beta Program is not directed to individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 18, please contact us at grow@taigafarmandseed.com and we will take appropriate action.
9. INTERNATIONAL USERS
The Beta Software is operated from the United States and intended for users in the United States, initially focused on Northern gardeners. If you access the Beta Software from outside the United States, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and to processing under United States law.
10. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to Beta Users via email. Your continued participation in the Beta Program after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
